Oakmore District, Oakland

Location:

The Oakmore district of Oakland lies below Hwy. and above the Glenview District.  The area runs between Park Blvd. (which lies to the north) and Linclon Ave. (that lies to the south.)  It bends around the Montclair Golf Course at the top and abuts Diamond Parkwhich lies at the bottom of the neighborhood.  Some sections are quite steep while others are more foothills.  There are also extremly charming smaller bungalows in the lower section.   Oakmore has a neighborhood website www.oakmorehomes.org .

Types of properties:

Oakmore offers a wide range of styles, sizes and prices of homes.  There are very few condos or apartment buildings.  Upper Oakmore displays some incredible Mediterranean estate sized homes as well as some newer construction view homes.  There are some power lines that run in the north canyon.

Features:

There is a small central shopping district with a neighborhood market, a pizza place and a couple of real estate offices.  Oakmore is walking distance to the Glenview shopping area as well.  Montclair Village is a short 2 minute drive away.
