Personal Interests

Real estate is definitely NOT a part time business.  It requires lots of time, expertise, strange hours a high degree of passion for the work.  My passions also show when I am at play.  My wife (Jill Carrigan-Santilena) and I enjoy relaxing at our home in Oakland’s Upper Rockridge neighborhood but we also love to travel. Our preference is to visit warm destinations such as Italy, Central America, Hawaii and Palm Springs but we also love our mountain home in Lake Tahoe’s Truckee area too. 

I’ve lived in the Oakland East Bay for virtually my entire life.  The Oakland Piedmont and Berkeley areas of the San Francisco East Bay aren’t just great places to live, they’re also great places to play.  When at play I like to play hard.  I truly enjoy the outdoors.  I generally enjoy them most when doing some sort of activity or sport.   Extreme sports are not really my wife’s “thing” but she is supportive of my endeavours nonetheless.  Physical hands-on activities are a pleasant break from negotiating contracts and the other  sales oriented aspects of a career in real estate.  I find outdoor adventure activities a physically exhausting yet very personally fulfilling pastime.
